The Ashaiman Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle A.N.Y. Kumi Larbi, has stated that the blood of Jesus forgives, cleanses, and brings redemption and justification to all who believe and gives them unrestricted access to the throne of God.
He made these remarks during the climax of the Afienya District Easter Convention on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Afienya, near the Accra lorry station (Afienya Last Stop).
The Easter Convention, held under the theme: “The Blood of Jesus Speaks Better Things,” attracted a multitude of people from different walks of life.
Quoting from Hebrews 12:24 and 9:22, the concept of the blood of Jesus speaking better things than the blood of Abel highlights the superior nature of Jesus’ sacrifice compared to that of Abel in the Old Testament.
This comparison, according to him, emphasises the consequences of sin and the cry for justice. In contrast, the blood of Jesus represents forgiveness, redemption, and reconciliation with God, seen as the ultimate atonement for sin, offering salvation and eternal life to believers in Him.
“The blood of Jesus, often seen as a symbol of redemption and forgiveness, speaks of the new covenant and offers hope and salvation to all who believe. In contrast, the blood of Abel symbolises the cry for justice and the consequence of sin. This comparison in the book of Hebrews underscores the transformative power of Jesus’ sacrifice and the superior nature of His atonement,” he stated.
Apostle Kumi-Larbi also stressed that the blood of Jesus is sufficient, permanent, and final, with Jesus serving as our high priest and mediator in all aspects of life.
He highlighted that Jesus upholds the universe with His powerful hands, embodies the exact imprint of God’s character, and is the heir of all things, as creation was done through Him and for Him.
The comparison in Hebrews between the blood of Jesus and the blood of Abel illustrates the profound difference between justice and redemption, sin and salvation, serving as a powerful reminder of the grace and mercy extended to believers through Christ’s ultimate sacrifice.
