“Give us a mini Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) for the Bono and Northern sectors to enable us organise church events smoothly.”

This was the request of the Paramount Chief of the Suma Traditional Area, Odeneho Dr. Affram Brempong III, who doubles as the National Secretary of the Chieftaincy Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, as he donated 50 acres (approximately 200 plots) of land to The Church of Pentecost.

The donation was made last Saturday when the chief joined the Goka Zone of the Berekum Area Easter convention of The Church of Pentecost at Goka.

The Sumamanhene disclosed that many members of the church find it difficult to travel down south to the Pentecost Convention Centre at Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region during events organised by the church.

“I realised that we have no significant structure for us to meet in the upper regions. Therefore, the structure when built would bring members of the church here so we can have our own place for retreats. This would also bring development in the Suma Traditional Area through employment opportunities,” he said.

In his response, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, who was full of praise for the gesture stated: “The Executive Council realised that traveling to Gomoa Fetteh was a long distance. Therefore, we decided to construct mini convention centers in each region.”

“Looking at the donation from the Suma Paramount Chief, the convention centre will be constructed in Suma,” Apostle Nyamekye reechoed.

On behalf of the Executive Council, he expressed his utmost gratitude to the Traditional Council for their benevolence to the Church.

The Chairman was hopeful that the project would come to fruition to benefit members of the church.

The delegation from the Suma Traditional Council comprised Odiakotene Akwama Toprefo (Suma Manhemaa), Nana Mfodwo Okofo III (Suma Akwamuhene and Chief of Asiri), Okokyeredom Ampofo I (Adontehene and Chief of Goka), Nana His Excellency Ambassador Asum-Ahensan I (Suma Maawerehene), Nana Koranteng-Afari (Suma Dabehene), Nana Kofi Asiri Ababio (Suma Fumasahene), Nana Abena Twenewaa (Adontehemaa), and Nana Adomabea (Suma Maawerɛhemaa), among others.

Also present was a delegation from the Kwatwoma Traditional Area comprising Osabarima Asiedu Kotwi (Paramount Chief, Kwatwoma Traditional Area), Opanin Kwame Duku (Kwatwoma Abusuapanin), Nana Kwaku Asiedu (Kwatwoma Kyidomhene), Nana Arko-Acheampong (Kwatwoma Gyaasehene), and Nana Kwasi Acheampong (Kwatwoma Akwamuhene), among others.
