The Abeka Area of The Church of Pentecost has recorded a remarkable evangelistic harvest, with 1,037 people surrendering their lives to Christ at the maiden edition of the Area’s “Abeka for Christ” Crusade.

The five-day crusade, held from August 25 to 29, 2026, at the Cosmos School Park near the Lapaz New Market, was organised under the leadership of the Abeka Area Head, Apostle Anthony Mensah.

Of the 1,037 souls won, 904 were adults and 133 were children. The crusade also recorded 210 baptisms in the Holy Spirit, 344 water baptisms by immersion, 59 reported miracles and healings, and the opening of two new Ghetto Cells.

Beyond the numbers, the crusade brought spiritual renewal, joy and a sense of revival among members of the Area, while extending the Church’s presence and ministry into the surrounding community.

The open-air crusade was preceded by an intensive evangelistic campaign led by the Gospel Heralds. The campaign, which began in the first week of August, involved house-to-house and personal evangelism aimed at reaching residents with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In addition, morning prayer sessions were held at the Abeka Central Church from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. from August 26 to 28, providing spiritual preparation for the crusade.

As part of the final day’s activities on Saturday, August 29, a health outreach was organised at the Lapaz New Market to complement the evangelistic efforts.

The initiative provided medical support to church members and residents, particularly market women, who benefited from laboratory investigations, medical consultations and the dispensing of medication. In all, 373 people received medical attention.

Free National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) services were also provided, including registration, renewal and card replacement for beneficiaries who required them.

The crusade featured ministrations from several ministers of The Church of Pentecost, including Apostle Anthony Mensah, Abeka Area Head; Apostle Daniel Dekpor, Kaneshie Area Head; Apostle Emmanuel Appiah, Evangelism Director; Apostle Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei, Sakumono Area Head; Apostle Awuah Fodjour, Essem Debiso Area Head; Apostle Kingsley Addai; Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo (Rtd.); and Pastor Prince Duvorn.

The programme was further enriched by song ministrations from Ruth Adjei, Elder Emmanuel Arthur, Jacob Narh, Afrifa Brothers and Deaconess Dorcas Baidoo.

The maiden Abeka for Christ Crusade stands as a significant expression of the Area’s commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission by reaching people with the gospel, nurturing new believers and demonstrating Christ’s love through practical community service.
