The Achimota Area of The Church of Pentecost has inaugurated the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) – Achimota in a colourful ceremony held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Accra.
The newly inaugurated PIWC was formerly known as the Achimota Central Assembly.
The inauguration service also featured a welcome service for the newly transferred District Minister of PIWC Achimota, Pastor Dr. Isaac Annor, and his family.
Pastor Dr. Annor joins the Achimota District from PIWC – Downtown Ofaakor, where he served successfully for six years.
Speaking at the service, Executive Council Member and Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, who stood in for the General Secretary of the Church, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, challenged Christians to become strong pillars who support the Church and demonstrate the transforming power of Christ in society.
Apostle Denteh, speaking on the topic, “Raising Pillars in Building the Church for Transforming the Nations,” likened believers to pillars in a building, explaining that they are expected to provide strength and stability to the Church while also reflecting its beauty through their conduct.
He said Christians must consciously represent Christ wherever they find themselves, stressing that their lifestyle and conduct should give society a positive impression of the Church.
According to him, just as a pillar carrying a heavy load must stand on a solid foundation, Christians must build their lives firmly on the Word of God.
Drawing lessons from Matthew 7:24–27 and Acts 15:6–19, Apostle Denteh urged believers to always act in the interest of the Church and seek solutions to challenges confronting it.
“To act as a pillar of the Church, always pick in favour of the Church. You should not project the weaknesses of the Church or pastor but try as much as possible to find solutions. Do God’s work in God’s way,” he admonished.
The PEMEM Director further encouraged Christians to remain deeply rooted in the Word of God and live as transformed people whose influence would bring positive change to their families, communities and the nation at large.
He emphasised that the Church needs believers who would not only occupy positions but would also provide the spiritual strength, stability and positive influence required to advance the mission of Christ.
Apostle Denteh urged members of PIWC Achimota to embrace the responsibility of being pillars in the Church and to demonstrate through their lives the transformative message of the Gospel.
The service was attended by the Achimota Area Head, Apostle Joseph Denzerl; the Teshie-Nungua Area Head, Apostle Dr. Dela Quampah; members of the Area Pastorate and their wives, as well as officers and members of the Achimota Area.
