The Berekum Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Berko, has admonished Christians to acknowledge Christ as Lord in all things. According to him, many know Jesus to be the saviour, healer, baptiser, but surprisingly they have not come to acknowledge His Lordship.

Apostle Berko said this on 29th January, 2021, during the just-ended Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regional Ministers and Wives’ Conference.

He explained that the word ‘Lord’ comes from the Greek word ‘Kyrios’ which means one who has supreme authority, a master and owner of all things. “Therefore, accepting Christ as Lord means one has made Christ his or her authority, master and owner,” he said, adding, “One who confesses Christ as Lord makes Him owner of his life and as an owner, Jesus cares for all His children.”

Highlighting the implications of the Lordship of Christ, he mentioned that by acknowledging Christ as the owner of their lives, Christians must be willing to subject their rights, choices, will, and preferences to Christ. “It is not the matter of where you want to be, but where He is taking you,” he emphasized.

He added: “Christians must always respond in obedience just like military personnel when Christ calls on them without any questions and negotiations. We must submit to Christ as Lord by denying ourselves and allowing the perfect will of God to prevail in our lives.”

He cautioned Christians never to allow traditions and systems to take the place of Christ’s lordship.

Using Acts 2:36; 27:23, Luke 6:46, 2 Corinthians 5:19, Matthew 8:9, as references, the Berekum Area Head outlined some benefits one enjoys when Christ is acknowledged as Lord. These include seeing the mighty hand of God in one’s life, receiving fresh revelations, grace in difficult times, God becoming one’s source of prosperity, and God performing wonders in His or her life.

In attendance was the Regional Coordinating Committee Chairman, Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani, and other Area Heads in the three regions namely, Apostles Mark Obeng Andoh (Sunyani Area), William Edzohorhor (Goaso Area), Pastor Daniel Frimpong-Manso (Tepa Area), among others.
