The Worawora District in the Hohoe Area of The Church of Pentecost has retired five gallant officers of the church who have served meritoriously over the years.

The retirement service, which took place on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at its Central church auditorium, was held under the auspices of the Worawora District Minister, Pastor Samuel Oduetey Opata.

Delivering a sermon on the topic, “What Is My Reward In This Ministry?” based on Matthew 4:18-22, the Jasikan District Minister, Pastor Eugene Tettey Duodu, said that “our Christianity is not complete until we leave behind the former things and give ourselves wholly to the call of Christ.”

Drawing lessons from the sacrifice of the sons of Zebedee, he urged the church to give themselves wholly to the service of God and His church. He added that “when we seek first the kingdom of God and avail ourselves wholly to His service, just as James and John did, God makes us prosper here on earth and reserves a reward for us in heaven.”

The retirees were; Deaconess Comfort Ofosua Asapaa, who has served for 54 years, Elders Daniel Darko for 45 years, Gideon Doh for 32 years, Michael K. Adaletey for 30 years, and Jonas Tetteh for 22 years. The Church presented citations and gifts as a token of appreciation for their meritorious services.

In attendance were some ministers from the Jasikan Zone of the Hohoe Area; Pastor Ebenezer Afedzie, Overseers Eric Amankwa, and Asafo Adjei Owusu Bempah. Also present were the families of the retirees and members of the Church.
