One hundred and twenty-five (125) souls made a decision for Jesus Christ on the first day of the “Sogakope for Christ” crusade being held at the Sogakope Presbyterian School Park.
The four-day event, which opened on October 23, 2019, is being jointly organised by the Evangelism Ministry and the Sogakope Area of The Church of Pentecost.
Participating in the crusade are Apostle Amos Jimmy Markin (Director, Evangelism Ministry), Apostle Isaac Tetteh Juddah (Sogakope Area Head), Apostle Peter Dzemekey (Aflao Area Head), Pastor Asa Otu (Deputy Director, Evangelism Ministry) and Elder Seth Peasah (National Evangelism Ministry Executive Committee Member), among others.
Speaking on the first day of the event, Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin asserted that the only remedy for sin is Jesus Christ. According to him, sin is the root of all troubles in the life of humankind, but its cure can only be found in Jesus Christ.
“All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but Jesus Christ is the only name given unto men to restore this lost glory,” he said.
Referring to 1 Corinthians 5: 17, among other Bible texts, the Evangelism Director said that Jesus Christ is a forgiver of sins and a destiny changer who brings humankind out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of marvellous light.
He said that the life of the madman at Gadara (Luke 8:26-39) changed on the day he encountered with Jesus indicating how powerful Jesus Christ is and His ability to change destinies.
To the glory of God, the first day of the crusade recorded an attendance of about 1,410 people. 48 persons, out of the total souls won, were baptized in water on the same day.
