The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has stressed the need for Christians to live as a delight to the Lord because God has put His seal on them.

“We are God’s very own; He has put His seal on us. Therefore, let all enemies of God and those who seek to attack us keep off. That is why you don’t have to worry about witches and wizards,” he said.

Apostle Nyamekye said this last Sunday in a weekly televised service on Pent TV dubbed ‘Sunday Special Evening Service With The Chairman’ on Victorious Christian Living.

Reading from Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:14; 2 Corinthians 1:21, the Chairman explained that because believers are God’s workmanship and possession, He is responsible for their wellbeing.

Walking viewers through Paul’s admonition to the Church in Corinth in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Apostle Nyamekye charged believers to live like new creation disciples since they have been bought at a price and are not on their own, saying, “Responding positively to the word of God is a mark of a true disciple.”

He entreated believers to hold to the teachings of Christ (John 8:30-32) to live as victorious Christians. “A disciple is not the one who only reads the Bible and prays every day nor takes part in a Bible study, but the one who holds to the teachings of Christ and has given up the right to himself and live in such a way that he knows that he is not of his own,” he pointed out.

He added: “The victorious Christian is the one who has given up the right to himself; has come under the authority of the Master, humbly submits to the Lordship of Christ and is so appreciative of the cross such that before Christ there is no argument.”

The Chairman also took viewers through many instances in the Bible (Genesis 12:1-4; 17:10-13, 23-27; 21:8-14) where Abraham who became a friend of God obeyed God to the letter and acted promptly to all the instructions that God gave him without any consultation with any person.

He said that Abraham through obedience passed God’s test and that compelled God to call him a friend. He, however, bemoaned that many believers today have failed God’s test because they are unable to hold to His dictates. “Many of us have failed God’s test so we are not free indeed. Even though we belong to the new creation we are not able to simply follow the Lord,” he stressed.

“God called Abraham His friend because he was a delight to God through his obedience. God should delight in His creation. You are a creation of God, you are God’s own; He is not calling you to do any work for Him but to bring delight to Him. Ours is to walk with Him in simple obedience.

“We are God’s workmanship; we are His very own. We are bought at a price; you are not your own. The disciple’s desire is not one of doing anything for Jesus but of being a perfect delight to Him – someone whom Jesus can write the word ‘MINE’ over him,’” he stated.
