The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye has stated that the church offered scholarships to 392 students to pursue higher studies at the Pentecost University in 2019.
He made the revelation on Monday, May 4, 2020 during an interview with the celebrated journalist, Mr Bernard Avle, on the Point of View programme on Citi TV.
Responding to a question on whether the church supports its members, Apostle Nyamekye said the church offers support to society in diverse ways, explaining that “Last year alone, our church offered full scholarships to 392 members to study various programmes at the Pentecost University College. We also spent GHC 2.7 million on students in other tertiary institutions,” he said.
He stated that the church will continue to offer these and many supports to the needy members outside members.
In the interview that touched on a myriad of issues including COVID-19 pandemic, Apostle Nyamekye encouraged Ghanaians, particularly Christians, to continue to seek the face of the Lord in eliminating the viral disease from Ghana and the world at large.
