Fifteen out of the 20 converts baptised in water during a film outreach at Kawie in the Savannah Region, yesterday, received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

The film outreach was organised by the Evangelism Ministry in collaboration with the Kawie District of The Church of Pentecost.

The event, which recorded an impressive attendance of 294 people, began with joyful singing and dancing as the indigenes displayed immense energy with the traditional “arm-shaking” dance, after which they were treated to a movie on the extraordinary life of Christ in their native language.

An altar call after the film show yielded 49 souls for the Lord, including children. Twenty of the converts were baptised in water on the same day by the Kawie District Minister, Pastor Ezekiel Amoako Yeboah.

A holy spirit baptism session held afterwards saw 15 of the converts baptised by immersion receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God.

The exercise is part of preliminary activities being organised by an Advance Team of the Evangelism Ministry to prepare the grounds for a massive harvest of souls at the upcoming mega crusade at Sawla, dubbed: “Sawla For Christ.”

The “Sawla For Christ” crusade, which is under the theme: “In The Name Of Jesus” (Acts 3:6), is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, March 15 to Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Modern Ghana Park, Sawla.

The main speakers for the event are Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin (Director, Evangelism Ministry), Apostle James Asare (Area Head, Kasoa) and Pastor David Amankwaa (Area Head, Sawla).

Other speakers include Elder Evans Ayim (Deputy Director, Evangelism Ministry), Elder Dr. Ken. Aboah (NEC Member, Evangelism Ministry), Elder Seth Peasah (NEC Member, Evangelism Ministry), and Elder Dr. Ubor Tossan Konja VI (Paramount Chief, Kpassa Traditional Area)
