The Dunkwa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Jones Awuah Afrifa, has charged officers in the Area to be agents of transformation in order to possess the nations.
Pastor Awuah Afrifa said this in a sermon on the topic, “Possessing the Nations,” during a meeting with officers in the Area which took place at the Dunkwa Central Church auditorium on 3rd February, 2019. The meeting was meant to explain the Vision 2023 document to them and inspire them through the power of the Holy Ghost to possess the nations.
Quoting from Matthew 16:18 the Area Head said the Church is the salt and light of the world, which has been called out to bring light to the dark and corrupt world. “There is too much corruption in the world; the solution to the corruption of the world is the gospel,” he said.
According to him, for the Church to possess the nations, it must be a place of prayer and sound doctrine. He encouraged the officers to make the local Church a place of prayer and sound biblical teachings. He entreated the presiding elders to be good leaders, who will work for God with great zeal.
“Every member must be agent of transformation to bring light to the world. You have the power to possess the nations,” he stressed.
He admonished the participants to seek the power of the Holy Spirit and the grace of God to help them in their services to God.
The Area Head advised officers within the Area to come together as a team, since they can accomplish the vision of God if they are united. He told them to tap the gifts and potentials in others and work as a team and eschew bitterness, envy and division since these hinder teamwork.
Pastor Afrifa took the officers through Vision 2023 document and charged them to own the vision and implement it with great zeal at all levels. He encouraged them to form evangelism coordinating teams, chaplaincy committees, counselling and chieftaincy committees, among others to fast track the implementation of the vision.
He also encouraged ministers and presiding elders to sponsor needy but brilliant students to Pentecost University College (PUC). “Sponsoring church members to study at the university is not misplaced, because it will help raise leaders for the Church in the future,” he said.
The event, which ended with intercessory prayers for the Church, was used to officially launch Vision 2023 in the Area.
