The True Believer Cannot Be Shaken – Pastor Prah Amonoo Assures

Though the foundations of the world will be shaken and many people would perish, the ones born of the blood of Jesus Christ shall remain steadfast and immovable, Pastor George Prah Amonoo, the Darkuman District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has assured Christians.

Speaking at the Twi Service on PENT TV on Sunday, July 5, 2020, on the topic, “I Will Not Be Shaken” – Psalm 16:8; Hebrews 12:25-29, Pastor Amonoo stated that the true believer of God is like a house built on the rock which shall not be moved or collapsed regardless of the storms that may arise against it.

He, therefore, called on Christians to get closer to God to be grounded in Christ in order to stand in these difficult times.

He disclosed that though COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the world claiming thousands of human lives and bringing the entire world to a standstill, the child of God is saved.

According to him, from time to time God intentionally allows certain happenings to shake the world when the sins and wickedness of people rise to the peak. He said that through the shakings, God shows forth His sovereign power and restores the world to Himself.

Taking viewers through the Scriptures, the Darkuman District Minister said the first shake of the world took place in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3) after Adam and his wife Eve disobeyed God and sinned. God shook the earth after cursing it because of man. Since then, he said, the earth is groaning and it is waiting for its redemption (Romans 8:22). “This is why the world frequently experiences many disasters such as earthquakes, tremors, hurricanes, floods, infernos, etc. resulting in the loss of many lives and property,” he revealed.

He however assured that when Christ returns, the earth and its inhabitants will receive their redemption and salvation.

The second shaking in the Bible, he stated, took place in the time of Noah (Genesis 7, 8 and 9) after God regretted creating humanity (Genesis 6:6) and destroyed the earth with floods, leaving out the household of Noah.

The Tower of Babel was another shaking in the Bible (Genesis 11) where God came down and shook the world by creating a diverse language among the people, which confused them when human beings attempted to build a tower to reach the heavens.

Another shaking in the Bible, he mentioned, is the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19) when the people did despicable things against the Lord.

Talking about world history, Pastor Amonoo also mentioned that the First and Second World Wars, the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America and currently COVID-19 pandemic that has plagued the world, are all part of the shakings that God allows to happen in order to bring the minds of human beings to Himself and His righteousness.

Reading from 2 Peter 3:9; Psalm 82:5; Haggai 2:6-7, he stated: “The fact is that when the sins of humans become so grievous, God then intervenes and causes a shake to restore the world. The shakings are a wakeup call for humans to seek God and come closer to Him for salvation.”

He called on humanity to turn away from their evil ways so as to obtain mercy from the Lord.

Pastor George Prah Amonoo ended his sermon by identifying four things that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12: 27b-29).

These, he said, are the throne of God, saying that this is the time for Christians to increase their prayers and fasting and entre the throne room of God to obtain mercy for their souls; the Word of God (Mark 13:31; 1 Peter 1:22-25), which has power that can sustain the child of God in this difficult times; the true Church of God which Christ has built cannot be destroyed by the gates of hades (Matthew 16:18). He explained that the true church of God shall never be shaken in times of crisis since it is built on the rock.

Another thing that cannot be shaken is the child of God, he added. According to him, the true believer cannot be shaken because they have been purchased of the precious blood of the Lamb of God. “It is the blood that has rescued the child of God from the power of darkness. So if the foundations of the world are shaken, the child of God is secured and unshaken. In Jesus, nothing can shake you,” he stated.
