The National Executive Committee (NEC) of The Other Sheep Ministry (TOSM) of The Church of Pentecost has held its maiden meeting in Accra to officially begin its work.
The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, was to afford the NEC members the opportunity to fraternise and to plan the ministry’s work and operational modalities in line with the church’s Vision 2028.
The Chairman of the NEC, Apostle Dr Dieudonne Komla Nuekpe, who is also an Executive Council Member of the Church, in his welcome address said the new ministry is one of the ministry interventions under Vision 2028.
He called on the NEC to begin work immediately, saying, “You have the Executive Council’s backing and support.”
In his exhortation titled, “A people of God unleashed to minister to the Other Sheep,” with scriptural references from John 10:16 and Amos 6:1-6, Apostle Dr D. K. Nuekpe, said: “There is the need to seek the other sheep or adherents of other religions with zeal, passion and care,” pointing to the fact that some of them trace their route to the Ishmaelites who are also the descendants of Abraham.
He enumerated among other reasons that adherents of other religions are on the increase. This, he said, means that Christians have a great task to demonstrate the love of Christ and share the truth of the gospel with them in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The NEC Chairman encouraged the team and all believers to pray for people of the other religions and learn a lot about them without fear.
“There was no need to dread such target groups; they are our brothers and sisters who need the love and blessings bestowed on as by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,” he said.
Apostle Dr Nuekpe was confident that if this august task was approached with a Pentecostal method of prayer, proper planning and total reliance on God, victory will be the outcome.
The leadership of the ministry would collaborate with Ministry Directors and meet with Regional Coordinating Committee Coordinators, Area Heads, ministers and wives, officers and members of the church to create massive awareness and education about the ministry.
The slogan of the ministry was unveiled as: “The Other Sheep Ministry: One Flock, One Shepherd.”
The National Coordinator, Pastor Abraham Addae Agyemang, called for massive support from all stakeholders as the ministry joins the other ministries to possess the nations for Christ.
Present at the meeting was Deaconess Philomina Mireku, Women Ministry Director.
