The Buokrom Estate Central Assembly church building, which was dedicated to the Lord last Sunday, has been named after the late retired minister of the Church, Pastor Andrews Asamoah-Baah.
The Buokrom Estate, in consultation with the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and the New Tafo area, decided to honour the late Pastor Asamoah-Baah with this gesture in view of his pioneering work at the district from 2008 to 2012 as its first District Minister.
The dedication service for the 1200-seater auditorium, now known as “Andrews Asamoah-Baah Memorial Temple” (AABMT), was officiated by the New Tafo Area Head, Apostle Samuel Antwi, with support from Pastor Emmanuel Yaw Akwaboah (Buokrom Estate District Minister) and the New Tafo Area pastorate.
The glorious event was witnessed by hundreds of members and non-members, including the wife of the late minister, Mrs Beatrice Asamoah- Baah, and other family members.
Amongst the dignitaries present at the event were Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson (Offinso Area Head), Apostle Matthew Larbi Wattey (Rtd.), Pastor Samuel Ofei Badu (Rtd.), Area Executive Committee members, and former presiding elders of the assembly.
Elder Nana Opoku Brempong I (Nkosuohene of Bosomtwe Asamanhene) and Hon. Kwame Agyemang (Assembly Member for the Buokrom Estate Electoral Area) also graced the occasion.
Exhorting the congregants with 1 Peter 2:4-10 as his Bible reference, Apostle Samuel Antwi opined that every single individual in the Church is a stone Jesus is using to build His Church, and each stone is meant to serve a distinct purpose.
He intimated that, as part of the building process, the edges of the stones would have to be shaped and re-shaped in order to make them fit for purpose.
Apostle Antwi, therefore, urged Christians to submit themselves to the correction and training of the Lord through His word and the Holy Spirit so that they would be of good use to the Chief Builder, who is Christ.
Mrs. Beatrice Asamoah-Baah, in a brief response, expressed profound gratitude to The Church of Pentecost for the great honour done her late husband.
The Buokrom Central Assembly started in 1987 with 35 members during the tenure of Pastor Paul Elisha Kesse (Rtd.) but now boasts a membership of 979. The assembly’s church building project, which began in 2006, took 16 years to complete. To God be the glory.
