The Tema Area of The Church of Pentecost continues to assert its dominance in the music and drama landscape, securing top honours in the 2024 National Music and Drama Contest organised by the Youth Ministry of the church.
The International Praise Choir from the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) at Community 7 emerged as the victors in the music category, while the Redemption Valley Drama Troupe took home the top prize in the drama segment.
This remarkable achievement adds to the Area’s growing reputation in these national contests. The Temple of Praise in the Tema Greenwich Meridian District was the 1st runner-up in 2021, and the Greenwich Mass Choir won the contest in 2022. The consistent excellence demonstrated by these groups solidifies the Area’s standing as a formidable force in the Youth Ministry’s national competitions.
In a symbolic gesture, both the International Praise Choir and the Redemption Valley Drama Troupe presented their awards to the Area Head, Apostle Emmanuel Ofei Ankra-Badu (now retired), and the Area Youth Leader, Pastor Dr Suleman De-Graft Issaka. Both leaders commended the groups for their outstanding performances and extended their appreciation to the Area Music and Drama Committee for their dedication and hard work in preparing the teams for the contest.
