The Missions Board of The Church of Pentecost began its annual meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 2025, with a call to action from the Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Possessing Canaan,’ Apostle Nyamekye urged the board to intensify efforts in expanding the church’s missions work and to push beyond its current frontiers with unwavering faith and strategic planning.

Drawing inspiration from Numbers 32 and Deuteronomy 7:1, 22-23, he emphasised that just as God had promised the Israelites the land despite the opposition they faced, He has also promised the nations to the church. He, therefore, challenged the board members to fully dedicate themselves to the mission, actively engaging with communities and solving complex challenges as God has ordained them to do.

Apostle Nyamekye cautioned against complacency in missions advancement, stating that the work is far from complete, saying, ‘No one should say we have settled in this missions advancement work; we must continue to support one another and move forward together.’

He further stressed the need for a well-structured and strategic approach to missions expansion. As the church transitions from an international to a truly global mission, he called on all stakeholders to be actively involved.

‘We are expanding, and we must be ready to go to the people and hold the nations together,’ he said.

Encouraging the board members, Apostle Nyamekye reassured them that God would provide the necessary resources for the expansion of the mission. He urged them not to be afraid of the vision, reminding them that ‘God expects us to be strategic in our approach by effectively managing the land we have conquered.’

The Chairman highlighted the importance of established mission nations supporting smaller ones, fostering collective growth and progress.

‘The nations that have grown bigger must not leave the smaller ones behind. Instead, they should continue to provide leadership and guidance for their advancement,’ he admonished.

Expressing gratitude for the board’s exceptional leadership, Apostle Nyamekye commended them for their dedication in upholding the mission of the church. He concluded with a resounding charge: ‘Be strategic and courageous in your moves, for our God is with you.’

The annual Missions Board meeting continues, with key discussions centred on reinforcing the global impact of The Church of Pentecost’s missionary work.
