The Santa Maria District in the Odorkor Area of The Church of Pentecost has successfully organised an entrepreneurial skills training for young ladies in the district.
The one-day event, held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, saw the participation of about 48 young ladies from the Central, Ebenezer, Bethany, and English assemblies within the district.
Mrs. Priscilla Ofei-Badu, wife of the Resident Minister and one of the facilitators, highlighted that the primary goal of the training was to equip the participants with employable skills for sustainable livelihoods.
She encouraged the young ladies to emulate the Proverbs 31 woman, who diligently excelled in her endeavours, and to utilize the skills they acquired as an alternative source of income.
Mrs. Ofei-Badu further emphasised that this initiative could significantly contribute to reducing the high unemployment rate within the church and the nation.
She added that the financial prosperity of virtuous women directly impacts the prosperity of the church and the nation.
The other facilitators included Deaconess Lydia Akuba Amoako, Miss Elizabeth Anaamile Akandawon, and Miss Lydia Ugan.
The training covered various skills, including the making of pastries (pies, cookies, and pizza) and hair products (shampoo, conditioner, and hair food).
Participants expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Priscilla Ofei-Badu and the leadership of the Church for this commendable initiative.
