The Sakumono Area of The Church of Pentecost has recorded a remarkable harvest of 311 souls during a four-day “Fire Crusade” held from 18th to 22nd November 2025 under the theme, “Jesus Christ Shall Set You Free.”
The crusade, which drew multitudes from Community 20 and neighbouring communities, also saw 118 candidates baptised in water and 71 believers receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, marking a significant move of God among the people.
Speaking during the event, the General Secretary of the Church, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, expounded on the liberating mission of Christ as foretold by the prophet Isaiah. He noted that Jesus clearly outlined His earthly mandate when He proclaimed, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…,” revealing His divine assignment to set captives free, open blinded eyes, and deliver the oppressed.
Apostle Obuobi described captivity as a condition where a person appears outwardly free yet remains spiritually bound. He explained that humanity fell into such bondage through sin, becoming subject to the power of Satan and death, with no ability to save itself.
He, however, emphasised that through His death and resurrection, Christ shattered the hold of sin, broke Satan’s authority, and opened the way to true and lasting freedom. He urged the congregation to recognise that many people still struggle internally despite seeming free, and affirmed that only Jesus has the power to liberate completely.
The Sakumono Area Head, Apostle Dr. Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei, also ministered during the crusade, calling on all present to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Drawing from Isaiah 53:5, he reminded the gathering that Christ paid the full price for humanity’s peace.
He likened life to a journey from the womb to the tomb, marked by battles and uncertainties, yet assured the people that true peace can only be found in God.
Other speakers included the Evangelism Director, Pastor Emmanuel Appiah, and the Resident Minister of PIWC Sakumono, Apostle Seth Fianko-Larbi.
The event also featured ministrations by several gospel musicians, including Olivia Tornu, Emmanuel Arthur, Ohemaa Esther, Life Impact, and other renowned artistes.
As part of the outreach, a free health screening was organised on Saturday, November 22, supported by individuals and organisations, including Prince Mark Company Limited.
Special prayers were also offered for healing and for couples trusting God for the fruit of the womb, rounding off a crusade marked by spiritual renewal, divine encounters, and transformed lives.
