The Women’s Ministry of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Sakumono, in the Sakumono Area of The Church of Pentecost, has once again organised a food bazaar for its members and the surrounding community.

In line with this year’s theme, “Unleashed to Live a Life Worthy of Your Calling,” members gathered to showcase their culinary skills and to learn how to prepare a variety of traditional Ghanaian dishes, to replicate them in their homes.

The bazaar, which took place on August 16, 2025, at the forecourt of the church premises, saw six participating subgroups of the ministry: Blessed Ladies, Precious Jewels, Vessels of Honour, Victorious Ladies, Virtuous Queens, and Women of Substance, showcase their culinary skills with some Ghanaian dishes.

Blessed Ladies were tasked with cooking werewerechicken soup with fufu and eto. Precious Jewels prepared kenkey, banku, fish, hot pepper, and green pepper. Women of Substance were tasked with preparing estiw, fantefante, ampesi, and Ajumako abom. The rest of the dishes—mpihu, apapransa, ebunbunu, and fufu—were prepared by Virtuous Queens. Ewokple, bobi tadi, and Volta green soup were prepared by Vessels of Honour, while tuo zaafi, ayoyo/kooka soup were prepared by Victorious Ladies.

The event aimed to showcase and celebrate the diverse culinary traditions, highlighting indigenous foods and promoting local culture among the women. It also fostered a sense of community by bringing members together to share food stories and experiences. Again, the event served as a platform for cultural exchange, allowing members to learn about the heritage and traditions associated with different foods and communities.

The occasion was attended by the Resident Minister for PIWC Sakumono, Apostle Seth Fianko-Larbi and his wife, Dr Mrs Theresa Fianko–Larbi; the Associate Pastor, Frank Mensah Tandoh; the Presiding Elder and wife, Yohannes; and Mrs Efua Ametri and the District Women’s Ministry Executive Committee, led by Deaconess Isabella Gyau Orhin.

Deaconess Orhin praised the various groups for mobilising their members and prayed that God would replenish every resource that they spent on the event.

The Resident Minister and the Presiding Elder, together with their wives, served as the tasting officers for the event. In their comment, they commended the Women’s Ministry Executive Committee for the initiative and all the groups for their participation.
