Pentecost University (PENTVARS) has unveiled its new institutional logo as part of an ongoing rebranding exercise to usher in a new dawn at the university following its transition from a university college to a full-fledged university.
The unveiling of the university’s logo took place during the investiture of the new PENTVARS Vice-Chancellor, Pastor Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, on Saturday, November 7, 2020.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Rebranding Committee, Ing. Owura Sarfo, said that, among other objectives, the branding exercise sought to create a paradigm shift in the minds of all stakeholders, staff, students, sister-universities etc, in the wake of the new status of the university.
“It is also our hope that this new visual identity will facilitate the attainment of new frontiers, new markets, enhanced revenue streams, new partnerships, and new horizons. Finally, the branding process is to make everyone know that Pentecost University is very alive and is ready to do business in a new and better way with a bang,” he added.
The features of the new three-dimensional logo are a Torch/Flame, which is a symbol of the Holy Spirit, an Open Book/Bible, signifying knowledge and academic excellence in the context of Christian principles, and the “Adinkra Nkyinkyini” symbol, which symbolises Afrocentrism, dynamism and versatility. The logos also has Gold, Blue and White as its colours.
Furthermore, the university has adopted “Transformation and Service” as its new slogan and has also put forward a new vision, mission and new institutional values as follows:
- Vision: Pentecost University aspires to be a distinguished Christian university known for excellence in teaching, research, and community impact
- Mission: Pentecost University exists to develop resourceful and value-driven graduates, whilst generating and disseminating knowledge through research and innovation in partnership with industry, commerce and the public sector.
