Ms Rosemary Owusu, a dedicated Christian based in the UK, has generously donated two church buildings to churches worshipping under trees in the Bolgatanga and Wa Areas of The Church of Pentecost.
In 2024, Ms Owusu, who is not a member of The Church of Pentecost, approached the leadership of The Church of Pentecost at the General Headquarters in Accra with the intention of building a place of worship for deprived communities.
Initially, she planned to construct one Community-Based Church Building (CBCB). However, after further discussions and considering the need to blend local and indigenous construction methods with conventional techniques, two churches worshipping under trees in the Bolgatanga and Wa areas were presented to her for consideration, which she graciously agreed to fund the construction of the two buildings.
The Kpatia assembly in Zuarungu District, Bolga Area, is one of the two buildings fully funded by Ms Owusu and her daughters. The church was built and furnished at a cost of GHS 161,300.00. Ms Owusu’s commitment extended beyond the initial construction, as she volunteered to fund the ceiling, floor tiling, and fencing of these edifices.
The dedication service, held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, was attended by ministers and their wives from the Bolga Area, the chief of Kpatia and his elders, as well as members of the Zuarungu District.
The Area Head for Bolga, Apostle David Amankwaa, assisted by the District Minister, Overseer Moses Gyimah, dedicated the church building on behalf of the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye. He delivered a message titled, ‘That there may be glory in the Church,’ based on Ephesians 3:21 and 4:1.
Apostle Amankwaa stated that for God’s glory to remain in the church across generations, congregants must live lives worthy of their calling, embodying Christian character in every aspect of society to transform their world.
On behalf of the leadership and the members of the church, Apostle Amankwaa expressed profound gratitude to the Owusu family for their selfless contribution, which has provided the congregation with a decent place of worship, transforming their experience from worshipping under a tree. He prayed for God’s blessings upon them.
