Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, the General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, has reaffirmed that Jesus Christ is the ultimate Saviour of the world, urging believers to embrace Him for deliverance from sin and spiritual death.

He delivered the message on Wednesday, November 27, 2025, at the Jubilee Park during the ongoing Tamale For ChristCrusade, preaching under the theme, “Jesus the Saviour.”

Apostle Obuobi traced humanity’s need for salvation to the fall in the Garden of Eden, explaining that disobedience separated mankind from God and created a spiritual void only Christ could fill. Drawing from 1 John 4:14, he reminded the congregation that “the Father has sent His Son to be the Saviour of the world.”

He noted that God’s creation was perfect, and His instructions to humanity were clear, referencing Genesis 2:16–17 where Adam was commanded not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

He explained that deception entered the Garden through Satan, leading humanity to believe the deceiver over God, resulting in both spiritual and physical death (Genesis 3:19; Romans 6:23). “Spiritual death brought separation from God, while physical death became the destiny of all people, regardless of status,”he said.

Apostle Obuobi emphasised that sin caused humanity to lose the glory of God and rendered mankind powerless to redeem itself. “No human being or sacrificed animal could pay the price for the soul of man, which is precious and costly,” he stated. It was in this state of helplessness that Jesus Christ appeared as the world’s only Saviour, sent not as an ordinary figure but as the one capable of redeeming humanity. Quoting 1 Timothy 1:15, he affirmed that Christ came specifically “to save sinners.”

He further explained that Jesus’ mission was one of salvation, not condemnation, citing John 3:17 and the account of the woman caught in adultery (John 8:10–11). “When Jesus saves, He delivers people from the power of sin and breaks the hold of addiction,” he added, referencing Matthew 1:20–21 that Jesus came “to save His people from their sins.”

Concluding, Apostle Obuobi reminded believers that salvation in Christ restores what was lost in Eden and provides a path back to God.

The crusade drew several church leaders, including Apostle Emmanuel Kwesi Appiah (Director, Evangelism Ministry), Apostle John Budu Kobina Tawiah (Tamale Area Head), Evangelist Abraham Addae Agyemang (Coordinator, The Other Sheep Ministry), and other Area Heads and coordinators from across the region.
