Mock Exam

Odorkor Area Youth Ministry Organizes BECE Mock Examination

The Odorkor Area Youth Ministry has conducted its third consecutive mock examination for all candidates of the 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Area.

The BECE Mock Examination was initiated by the Area Youth Leadership to adequately prepare final candidates in the Area for the examination and thereby increase access to secondary school education.

This year’s Area BECE Mock Examination was held from April 6 to 7, at the Christ Union Academy, a school located near the Odorkor Central Assembly. In all, 315 students, both members and non-members of The Church of Pentecost, took part in the examination. The candidates were assessed on the four core subjects: Social Studies, English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science.

Speaking to PENTECOST NEWS on the sidelines of the event, some participants said that the mock examination had allayed the fears they had towards the BECE. Others indicated that the examination has served as a timely wake-up call and challenged them to study harder for the upcoming examination.

On her part, Deaconess Faustina Akotsen Enninful, a member of the Odorkor Area Mock Examination Organizing Team, said that the papers would be marked by teachers in the Area.

Although she admitted that the event was quite expensive to put together, she was equally delighted that the exercise had been very productive and greatly benefitted the students.

Deaconess Enninful expressed appreciation to the Area Head, Apostle Patrick Aseyero and his Executive, the Area Youth Executive, District Leaders and the entire membership of the Area for their various support towards a successful programme.

Prior to the mock examination, the Area Youth Ministry organised a seminar for all BECE candidates in the Area. The candidates were given extensive insight on how to answer BECE examination questions in the four core subjects Mathematics, English, Social Studies and Integrated Science. Other examination related issues such as punctuality, comportment, writing legibly, etc. were also addressed.

The Odorkor Area Mock Examination was initiated by the Area Youth Leader, Pastor Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, who doubles as the Resident Minister for PIWC-Odorkor, in 2016.

The exercise dovetails into Vision 2023 of The Church of Pentecost, which aims at equipping members of the Church to be agents of transformation to possess the nations. The Area Youth Ministry believes that complementing what the candidates do at the respective schools, will go a long way to enhance their performance at the pending BECE examination.
