Obuasi covid-19 donation

Obuasi Area Donates To Hospitals, Police And Prisons

The Obuasi Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Apostle William Boakye Agyarko, has donated personal protective equipment (PPEs) and other essential items to the Obuasi Government Hospital, New Edubiase Government Hospital, Obuasi Prisons, and the Obuasi Police to help fight spread of the novel COVID-19 pandemic.

The presentation of the items which took place on April 16, 2020, at the forecourt of the Area office, was part of the church’s contribution towards the efforts to curtail the spread of the deadly disease in the Obuasi Municipality and adjoining districts.

The items worth GH¢ 27,174.00 include 17 Veronica buckets, 21 gallons of rubbing alcohol, 30 gallons of hand sanitizers, 50 gallons of liquid soaps, 60 gallons of disinfectant, 30 tissue papers, 20 packs of face mask, 20 boxes of carbolic soap, 8 packs of gloves, 40 mops & buckets, 5 packs of tissues, and a non-rebreather mask with oxygen supply tube.

Making the presentation, Apostle Boakye Agyarko encouraged health workers to have faith in God saying, “We have prayed and we believe that the Lord will answer.”

He called for the adherence of the protocols given by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to help curb the spread of the virus.

Representatives from the Police and the Prison administrations, Chief Inspector Albert Kyei of the Police Service and ASP Justice Boakye Sarkodie from the Prisons Service, commended the church for the gesture.

They promised to do their best in their services to the nation to help fight the pandemic while calling on other organisations and churches to emulate the good works by The Church of Pentecost.
