The Youth Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has held its annual end-of-year retreat at the Hephzibah Christian Centre at Peduase, near Aburi in the Eastern Region.
The four-day residential retreat which started on 27th November, 2018 was attended by members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Ministry, Area Youth Pastors and Travelling Secretaries and their wives.
Opening the programme, the Director of the Youth Ministry, Apostle David Nyansah Hayfron, exhorted the youth workers on a message titled, “Finding Rest in the Lord.” Reading from Matthew 11:28-30, he pointed out that Jesus Christ is the only one who can give rest to the weary soul.
“The Lord is ready to receive and give rest to whoever is weary and seeks rest in Him, for He never gets tired but gives power to the weak (Isaiah 40:28),” he stressed.
Apostle Nyansah Hayfron revealed that the best way to rest in the Lord is to be busy for Him. “The things that make the soul of the Christian tired are things done outside the will of God,” he bemoaned.
Guest speakers for the retreat were: Apostle (Major) Kumi-Wood, the Resident Minister of Burma Camp Worship Centre, who spoke on the “Mission of the Church,” and Apostle Nene Ahorlu Amegatcher (retired) who spoke on “Marriage and Family Life.”
As part of the retreat, the five-year strategic vision of The Church of Pentecost dubbed “Vision 2023” was extensively discussed.
There was a health walk to release stress and keep participants fit.
