We have received with grief, the unfortunate news of the passing on of the former Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, in the early hours of today.
We are indeed deeply saddened and shocked by his abrupt passing since he seemed to be full of life going about his normal duties. As mere mortals, this may be difficult to comprehend, however, we remain sure of one thing that the Almighty God knows best.
He was a fine statesman who served his country with dignity and respect. We will fondly remember him for the insightful exposition he gave on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, when he graced the opening session of the 42nd General Council Meeting of The Church of Pentecost at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, where he entreated Christians to love one another and treat all people equally.
His sudden home call reaffirms the harsh reality that death, the necessary end of all mortals, will always come at the time we least expect. It therefore, behoves all of us to be always prepared for the fateful day when we will leave this earth for an eternal rest (Revelation 14:13).
We extend our condolences to the bereaved family, especially his wife and children, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the nation Ghana for this painful loss.
May his soul rest peacefully.
