Tamale Area 2

Tamale Area Organizes Residential Ministers And Wives’ Retreat

The Tamale Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani (an Executive Council Member of the Church), has organized a residential retreat for all ministers and wives in the Area at the Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation (GILLBT), Tamale.

The event, which was held from September 20 to 22, 2018, was organised to equip the ministers and wives for the work of the ministry.

Speaking on the topic: “Concern for the Church” with 2 Corinthians 11:28 as his main Bible reference on the first day of the event, the Bolgatanga Area Head, Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman advised ministers and wives to be resilient and persistent for Jesus Christ as the biblical Paul. He noted that although Paul was persecuted on several occasions, he never gave up. Instead, despite the challenges he faced, he was rather concerned about the spread of the gospel message and the growth of the Church of God.

Quoting from Jeremiah 13:20 and Proverbs 27:23, Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman urged the ministers to intensify their Pastoral Care efforts by knowing the state of the flock entrusted to them by God to enable them to cater for their needs.

He further cautioned ministers to be very watchful lest they deter others from entering the kingdom of God because of their attitude. “You should serve as ‘doormats’ for others to walk on to Jesus Christ,” he said. He also advised them to cultivate the spirit of humility in order to be able to relate well with everyone.

Apostle Nkrumah-Agyeman also admonished the ministers to put in maximum efforts in doing the work of God. He said that the Church has done well to provide adequate resources for them to enable them to work effectively, and for that matter, they are expected to do far more than their forebears who had much fewer resources than they have now.

He reasoned that if every Minister and Wife of The Church of Pentecost serves the Lord diligently, loves the Lord deeply, walks faithfully with the God, set good examples to others and demonstrate utmost concern for the Church, God would elevate the Church to glorious heights.

On his part, Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani advised ministers and wives not to abuse the privileges they have been given but to forge ahead to become exceptional in ministry.
