The Faculty of Theology and Mission of Pentecost University College- Graduate School (PUC-GS) on Monday, August 27, 2018, hosted Professor Allan Anderson, a leading scholar on Global Pentecostalism.
Professor Allan Anderson, who is the Professor of Mission and Pentecostal Studies at the University of Birmingham, UK, was in the country to grace the retirement service of the immediate-past Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah. He, however, took the opportunity to interact with the Theology Students of PUC and present a lecture on Pentecostalism.
In his lecture, Professor Anderson touched on the origin of Pentecostalism as well as the various trends it has gone through over the years. He also took time to address all the questions and challenges the students had about Pentecostalism.’
Concluding his lecture, Professor Anderson commended Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah and Dr. Daniel Okyere Walker (Rector of PUC) for the comprehensive research works on Pentecostalism they undertook for their doctoral degrees which he (Professor Anderson) personally supervised.
The Rector of PUC expressed his appreciation to Professor Allan Anderson for his visit to the school and suggested to the Faculty of Theology and Mission to invite Professor Anderson as a Guest Lecturer from time to time to share his deep knowledge and experiences in Pentecostal Christianity with the students.
Also in attendance were Apostle Christian Tsekpoe (STEE Coordinator), Rev. Dr. Justice Arthur (Coordinator, PUC Graduate School) and Rev. Dr. Victor Zizer (Faculty Examination Officer).
At the end of the session, the students expressed great joy and excitement about the opportunity to meet one of the most renowned Pentecostal Scholars of this generation.
