The Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Missions at the Pentecost University College (PUC), Apostle Dr Benjamin Ali, has stated that every believer baptized in the Holy Spirit has the potential to prophecy because the Holy Spirit operating in them possesses all the spiritual gifts (Revelation 19:10).

He, however, cautioned that operating in the gift of Prophecy does not make one a Prophet.

Apostle Dr Ali said this on Thursday, March 15, 2018, when he took Officers through some of the Tenets of the COP as part of the just-ended Obuasi Area Apostolisation.

In his presentation, he explained the Word of Knowledge, which is also a spiritual gift, enables an individual to discern truth from falsehood.

“If you receive the Word of Knowledge, you would be able to tell if a person is lying to you, you would feel it within your spirit just like Peter found out about Ananias and his wife over the land they sold in Acts 5:1-11,” he said.

The Word of Wisdom, on the other hand, directs the individual into the future and can enable him or her to know what will happen in the future. He, however, noted that King Solomon’s ability to judge between the two women fighting over a baby in 1 Kings 3:16-28 was a gift of wisdom and not the gift of the Word of Wisdom.

Distinguishing between the gifts of Working of Miracles and Healing, Apostle Dr Benjamin Ali said that the former brings new things into being whiles the latter restores what is already in existence.

“Someone who is born with only one ear can have his missing ear replaced through prayers by someone who has the gift of Working of Miracles; however, one who possesses the gift of Healing can only restore a body back to its original condition but not create a new thing,” he explained.

Touching on the gifts of Diverse Kinds of Tongues, Apostle Dr Ben Ali explained that Tongues Speaking is a prayer-language communicated from man to God which no human understands, whiles the gift of Diverse Kinds of Tongues communicates a message from God to man, therefore, it must be interpreted to be understood.

After the exhortation, Apostle Dr Benjamin Ali led participants in an intense prayer session to seek the various spiritual gifts.
