The Kaneshie Area Children’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has organised a seminar for Child workers in the Area as part of the Area’s 2018 Children’s Ministry Mid-Year Report-reading Meeting.

The event, which took place on July 10, 2018, at the Kaneshie Area Office in Accra, recorded an attendance of 46 participants including Area Ministry Executive Members as well as District Children’s Ministry Leaders, Assistant Leaders and District Secretaries.

The Area Leader, Pastor Emmanuel Kwasi Appiah, who was the facilitator workshop, said the seminar was organised to sensitize leaders to appreciate the importance of commissioning leaders into church offices and educate them on good reporting practices of the Church.

In his presentation, Pastor Appiah said the appointment of people into offices in the church is biblical and very crucial, therefore those who appoint or call others to serve in the ministry must do so with vigilance, prayer and fasting.

Making references from Acts 13:1-4 and Acts 14:23, the Area Leader said that the Church in Antioch engaged in fasting and prayers before appointing and commissioning Barnabas and Saul for the work they had been called into even though the Holy Spirit had earlier spoken.

He also emphasized the importance of reporting in the Church by stating that: “Every leader must understand that we report first to God, our Superior (Pastors) and the Church.” (Acts 5:3-4; Hebrews 13:17).

Buttressing his point, he explained that when Barnabas and Saul returned from their mission they reported on their activities to the leaders of the Church as stated in Acts 15:4 and 30: “When they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church and the Apostles and the Elders; and they reported all things that God had done with them. So, when they were sent off, they came to Antioch; and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the letter.”

After the event, the participants commended the Area Executive for such a timely programme and also suggested that more of such capacity-building programmes should be organised for all teachers within and outside the Area.
