The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, has asked Christians to accept the gift of God which is Christ Jesus.

Apostle Nyamekye said that being born again is more than just going to church, saying, “Jesus is the full package of life; He is God’s own free gift to all mankind.”

Apostle Nyamekye was speaking at the climax of the Christmas Convention of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC Sakumono) in Accra on Sunday, December 23, 2018.

He said although Christ is available to all, not all persons are utilizing Him. “A gift that is not used is without essence and will not be of any help to the receiver,” he said, while urging Christians to accept the gift of God by eating, drinking and living the word of God.

“Some of us wake up in the morning and all that we think about is work, a new business idea and we forget we have to give attention to the bread of life and feed on Him,” he said, adding, “He sustains all things and He is the one you need for your day to be prosperous.”

He explained that Christians who do not read their Bible are disturbing their own future. “When troubles come, you try to use your mind to solve them; your mind can never stand the devices of the enemy,” he said.

He said although God has called Christians into a life of prosperity, however, there is a process to that life and it may not be immediate. “In His hands, He will mould you, and test you and make you the person He wants you to be then He will bless you.

“Whenever you come to a crossroad, do not panic, be quiet and know that there is something inside of you; take advantage of His wisdom, talk to Him because He knows the end from the beginning,” he said.

Apostle Nyamekye quoted several Scriptures including Isaiah 8:19; 9:1-7, John 4:7, Luke 1:6-8; 9:10 as well as Colossians 1:19, and said sometimes people tend to abuse their bodies because they do not know who they really are.

He said that Jesus was not born for naught, and entreated believers never to disappoint Christ. “What is in you is needed by the world, it is the light that lightens the path of the Gentiles and for us as Christians He is our glory,” he added.

Quoting extensively from the book of Exodus, Apostle Nyamekye said the purpose of the Manna was not just to feed the Israelites but was to humble them, test them so that at the end of it all it may be well with them.

He encouraged Christians not to be afraid of what lies ahead in the new year, saying, “We are in His palm, as we enter 2019, we enter with Him, don’t let anybody frightens you. Worshipping Christ is simple. We have our simple church with our simple Jesus.”

“When Jesus is in you, it means God Himself has come to make His abode in you and your life is never the same,” he stressed.

He said although people are born again, they do not have the fullness of God in them. Like the woman at the well in Samaria, Apostle Nyamekye said: “It is not enough for you to have your name in the books of The Church of Pentecost, you must encounter the Messiah.

“When you receive the fullness of God, you receive favour, grace, knowledge, and the full package of life.”

The five-day convention started on Wednesday, under the theme, “And You Shall Call His Name Jesus,” taken from Matthew 1:21.

Present at the service was the Resident Minister, Pastor Anthony Owusu Sekyere Kwarteng, among others.
