The New Jerusalem and Dwafoakwa Church buildings in the Asamankese Area of The Church of Pentecost have been dedicated to the glory of God.
The dedication services which took place on August 23, 2019, were officiated by the Area Head, Pastor Isaac Ekow Eshun.
The construction of the buildings began in October 2018 upon the receipt of the Community Based Church Building (CBCB) grants from the Headquarters of the Church.
Elder Dr Samuel Amo Tobin (Executive Chairman of Tobinco Group of Companies) also assisted in the project by donating GH₡ 30,000.00 (GH₡ 15,000.00 for each building).
He had earlier donated an undisclosed amount of money to the Awaham, Bethlehem and Israel assemblies, all in the Area for the purchase of plots of land.
Elder Dr Tobin again donated an amount of GH₡ 65,000.00 to put up a similar facility at another location.
Delivering the sermon at the dedication service, Elder Dr Tobin quoted from 2 Kings 4:10 and Hebrews 4:16 and stressed the need for believers to obtain favour from the Lord.
“When one finds favour with the Lord, the Lord Himself entrusts greater things to him,” he said.
He added that when one receives the Lord’s favour, the Lord blesses that person and makes him/her a blessing to others.
He, therefore, encouraged the members to pursue the grace and favour of God that is able to work out for their good and for the good of people around them.
The Area Head, Pastor Eshun, and the out-going Ekoso District Minister, Pastor Nathaniel Salifu Muhamadu, thanked Elder Dr Tobin for the gesture. On behalf of the Area, they presented a citation to him.
Present at the service were the pastorate and officers from the Asamankese.
