A powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit during a baptism session at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Odorkor, led a new convert to surrender a collection of charms and amulets he had kept in his possession.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 13, 2025, shortly after a water baptism service was held for six new converts by the Evangelism Ministry of the church, in collaboration with the Pentecost Young Missionaries (PYM). The team had organised a special Holy Ghost baptism session following the morning service.
During the prayer session, one of the converts, identified as David, reportedly fell under the power of the Holy Spirit and began to manifest. According to eyewitnesses, the young man began calling out the names of two deities he claimed were spiritually present in his room and tormenting his life.
Led by the Holy Spirit, the PIWC Odorkor team accompanied David to his residence, where they discovered several ritual objects, including charms and amulets made with ashes and parts of crocodiles and hippopotamuses. The items were retrieved and brought to the church premises.
In a solemn moment witnessed by members of the church and the evangelism team, Pastor Kwame Apeakese Pipim, Resident Minister of PIWC Odorkor, offered prayers over the items before they were publicly burned—symbolising a complete break from spiritual bondage and a new beginning in Christ.
The church described the event as a tangible demonstration of the power of God to deliver and transform lives.
