The Lord’s goodness and mercies continue to shine through the lives of His children in the Boadua District of The Church of Pentecost. A remarkable incident occurred on Thursday, August 28, 2025, when Brother Theophilus Osei-Tutu Twum, a 25-year-old member of the church, experienced an emergency case involving an unknown foreign object lodged in his oesophagus.

The incident happened while Brother Theophilus was eating banku and okro soup with a friend. After taking his first bite, he was unable to swallow due to the foreign object, which caused unbearable pain and difficulty breathing. His condition worsened, with vomiting that eventually became bloody, prompting his neighbours to rush him to St. Dominic Hospital at Akwatia in the Eastern Region.

Upon learning of the situation, Brother Theophilus’s mother, Madam Dorcas Zorn, quickly went to the District Mission House and informed the District Pastor, Pastor M. Y. Gbeku, and his wife. They prayed with her, assuring that the Lord was in control, and asked to be kept updated on the hospital’s findings.

An X-ray revealed that the foreign object was lodged in a spot that required specialist attention at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra for urgent surgery. Despite the dire prognosis, they returned to the mission house where the District Pastor, his wife, and District Secretary, Elder Dr Isaac Adade, laid hands on Brother Theophilus and prayed fervently for a miracle.

During the prayer, Pastor Gbeku received guidance from the Holy Spirit to give Brother Theophilus water to drink, as he was thirsty and dehydrated. With faith, they obeyed, and the young man was instructed to go home with the assurance that the foreign object would be vomited out.

Miraculously, within 15 minutes of leaving the Mission House, Brother Theophilus began to cough intensively and vomited out a huge bone, bringing immediate relief from the excruciating pain. Overjoyed, his mother exclaimed, “God has done it ooo!”

The following day, Brother Theophilus and his mother returned to the Mission House, bringing the vomited bone, referral letter, and X-ray as evidence of God’s miraculous intervention.

The incident serves as a testament to the Lord’s ongoing work in the church, demonstrating His power and mercy.
