History was made on Thursday, July 28, 2022, when over 700 people gathered in the Central Assembly church auditorium of the Makango District in the Atebubu Area of The Church of Pentecost to witness the celebration and blessing of 16 marriages.

This glorious event was chaired and officiated by the Atebubu Area Head, Apostle Isaac Amatey Anim, with assistance from the Makango District Minister, Pastor James Fosu Appiah.

Speaking at the event, Apostle Isaac Amatey Anim said that mass weddings are highly encouraged in The Church of Pentecost because it is in line with the Church’s “possessing the nations” agenda (Vision 2023).

He said that the exercise enables couples (especially cohabiting couples) to formalise their union and seek the blessings of God at a relatively cheaper cost.

Reading from Proverbs 18:22, Apostle Anim emphasised that marriage is one of the good things God gave humanity, and this is why “He who finds a wife obtains favour from the Lord.”

He advised the couples to live with each other in mutual love and respect and take proper care of their families by setting up family altars and possessing their homes.

He further encouraged those yet to solemnise their union in the right way as approved by the Church to emulate this good example.

The “newly-wed” couples are Elder Samuel Osabutey and Deaconess Esther Adzorke, Elder Williams Frempong and Deaconess Mary Apadey, Elder George Dogbatse and Deaconess Mary Walakatey, Elder Abraham Ablordeppey and Deaconess Charity Ahorsu, Elder Jacob Bosoka and Deaconess Faustina Mensah, Elder Paul Agbeko Adzi and Deaconess Patience Dusi, and Elder Joseph Nuertey and Deaconess Grace Tokoli.

Others are Deacon Alfred Agordo and Mrs. Dora Ametepe, Deacon Samuel Azuma and Mrs. Esther Goku, Mr. Gershon Afedo and Deaconess Rebecca Kudroha, Mr. Francis Doughan and Deaconess Eva Essel, Mr. Robert Amawugah and Mrs. Gladys Sakiti, Mr. Eric Azadavor and Mrs. Victoria Avusu, Mr. Paul Dagadu and Mrs. Comfort Kwofie, Mr. Joseph Kwame Mensah and Mrs. Emelia Alevi and Mr. John Arhin and Mrs. Priscilla Entsie.

Present at the occasion were Pastor Ernest Arthur (Yeji Nsuano District Minister) and his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Arthur, Overseer Isaac Masford (Avorkope District Minister), and his wife, Mrs. Linda Afful, and Mrs. Terry Gyamfi (Wife of the Kojo Boffour District Minister)
