The Koforidua Area Youth Ministry of The Church of Pentecost recently embarked on a Evangelism Takeover in Mangoase, resulting in a remarkable harvest of 78 souls and the establishment of two new local assemblies.
The outreach, held from May 23-25, 2025, mobilised over 50 passionate and Spirit-filled young men and women who took to the streets, homes, and villages of Blagodzi and Sumaila with the gospel of Christ. The team engaged in dawn broadcasting, house-to-house evangelism, video rallies, and evening crusades, with the tangible power of God evident throughout the communities.
The initiative aligns with the Youth Ministry’s vision: ‘Grounded in Christ, reaching everyone, and taking over everywhere for Jesus.’ Under this mandate, the Pentecost Young Missionaries (PYM) programme has been realigned to operate at both Area and District levels, empowering youth to win souls and disciple them for Christ.
By the end of the outreach, 78 souls, comprising 50 adults and 28 children, had surrendered their lives to Christ. Many underwent water baptism, while others received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In response to the overwhelming acceptance of the gospel, two new assemblies were planted in Blagodzi and Sumaila, both suburbs of Mangoase. The two assemblies will be nurtured by the Mangoase District, with support from the Area Youth Ministry.
A particularly awe-inspiring moment occurred during the Sunday service at Sumaila. A young man, seated quietly among the congregation, experienced a supernatural encounter. He testified to hearing a mysterious wind whispering an unfamiliar song into his ears, filling him with awe and conviction. He later approached one of the missionaries and confessed that he had previously possessed fetish items such as charms believed to offer protection from physical harm. Moved by the Spirit of God, he surrendered these items, declaring, ‘I do not want them anymore because of Jesus.’ The items were burned, and the young man received deliverance and water baptism. This powerful testimony serves as a reminder that Jesus saves, delivers, and reveals His glory.
Pastor Michael Akrobettoe, Koforidua Area Youth Leader, thanked God for the success of the outreach, saying, ‘This is what we are called to do — to go, preach, and disciple. God has truly visited Mangoase through His youthful army.’
Upon receiving the report, Apostle Mike Kwame Etrue, Koforidua Area Head, commended the Youth Ministry for their zeal and dedication to the Great Commission. He encouraged the team to continue supporting the newly planted churches until they are fully established in the Lord.
The Mangoase Evangelism Takeover stands as a testament to the transformative power of mobilising young people for missions.
