As a prelude to the nationwide Environmental Care Campaign scheduled for 29th February 2020, members of the Odina-Oguaa District in Winneba Area of The Church of Pentecost, together with community stakeholders, have organised a clean-up exercise at Gomoa Enyeme, a community in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region. The exercise took place in the early hours of Friday 28th February 2020.

Led by the District Minister, Overseer Solomon Kwasi Kyei, Presiding Elders K. E. Asiedu and Sampson Kumi-Rockson, and District Secretary, Elder John Arthur, the group cleaned the community durbar grounds, the principal streets and the Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPs) Compound in the community.

The group also cleared the weeds and polythene bags in gutters and other drainage channels in the area.
After a thorough cleaning of the health post, the Officer-in-Charge of the Compound demonstrated his outfit’s appreciation to the group by serving them hot beverages for breakfast.

The group rounded up the day’s activity with a community environmental care sensitisation meeting during which the chiefs and elders of the community encouraged Christians to continue to demonstrate the love of Christ to the world through social intervention programmes.

According to them, undertaking such interventions make Christians, and for that matter the Church, more relevant in their communities and the Ghanaian society.
