The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has revealed that God’s mighty men and women are built through intensive prayers.

He made this disclosed while speaking to presiding elders and elders of the church in the Ashanti Region on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Bantama Assembly.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Lord, Teach Us To Pray,’ Apostle Nyamekye emphasised that prayer is essential in the life of every Christian, especially leaders in the faith. He revealed that the best prayers are said in secluded places, just as Jesus did in Mark 1:35, stating that ‘secluded places are where God’s men and women, useful for ministry, are made.’

Apostle Nyamekye stated that to be truly useful in the arms of God, church leaders must seek Him in secluded places through dedicated and long periods of prayer.

Highlighting the importance of dedicating time to prayer, Chairman Nyamekye explained that Jesus prayed because He recognised it as a need.

‘Jesus was aware that having taken on human form, He would be tempted and could grow weak and weary. Therefore, He needed to rely on God, who assures to uphold, support, defend against opposition, and sustain all who seek Him,’ he said.

Apostle Nyamekye further noted that the best texts and messages are gained from the closet through prayers, disclosing that waiting on God through prayer is the period that people have face-to-face encounter with God, who provides deeper revelations and insights into scriptures.

Using himself as an example, he said, ‘My best messages come to me when I am on my knees in prayer. Sometimes, I would have finished preparing my sermon for a programme, and a few hours before the event when I zoom into prayer, it is then that God dismantles the whole sermon and rearranges it.’

He called on all to revert to the typical Pentecostal prayers which are more focused on the Holy Spirit and an intercessory rather that personal needs so the world will hear and benefit from it.
