Pastor Maxwell Adubofourh Asiedu, the Yennyawoso District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has highlighted the distinction between God’s omnipresence and His experiential presence, which can be felt in specific contexts.
“God is everywhere, but His presence is not everywhere,” he revealed while cautioning Christians, especially members of the Church, against wandering in search of miracles elsewhere. He urged them to nurture a close relationship with God to experience His presence at all times, stating, “Stay in this Church because God’s presence is here.”
Pastor Adubofourh made this revelation during a sermon delivered to members of Grace Assembly on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
Speaking on the topic, “A Call to Give,” he emphasised that giving is a divine calling that comes with grace, noting that individuals lacking this grace often struggle to give and tithe, regardless of their wealth.
He referenced several scriptures to support his message, including Galatians 1:1, 16-17, Psalm 134:4, and 1 Peter 2:9.
Pastor Adubofourh stressed that certain actions in Christianity should be carried out without consulting anyone, highlighting the importance of being attuned to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in doing God’s work.
“Paul did not confer with anyone when he was called. Giving is also a calling, and if you want to give, especially towards God’s work, you don’t seek consultation,” he stated.
To illustrate the potential dangers of seeking approval before giving, he referenced the story of Ananias and his wife, Sapphira. He quoted Exodus 19:5 to emphasise the blessings tied to obedience to God, encouraging the congregation to give willingly.
Pastor Adubofourh also discussed how God calls individuals to be sanctified for His purpose, as explained in Deuteronomy 7:6-8. He remarked, “We have been called from darkness to light, from death to life because God loves us.”
In conclusion, he cited 2 Corinthians 9:10-11 to reinforce that God provides resources to His people to support His work and assist others when needed, echoing the message found in Exodus 25:1-9.
Mama Joana, the wife of the District Minister, was also in attendance at the service.
