The Downtown-Ofaakor Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Benjamin Ali, has asserted that God has given Christians dominion over all diseases, including the deadly COVID-19 disease which continues to claim thousands of lives across the world.
According to him, God created man to have dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth (Genesis 1:26).
He said that although man lost his position in the garden due to sin, Jesus Christ, who came from God to save man from their sin, has restored the dominion authority of man, saying, “So whether Coronavirus came from the sea, the air, or from the land if you will surrender your life to Jesus, he can deal with it.”
Apostle Dr Ben Ali stated that Jesus Christ, a member of the Godhead, decided to come into the world to take human form so that he will defeat the devil at any point and hand over dominion unto the children of God. So dominion now belongs to the children of God, he said.
Speaking on Sunday, April 26, 2020, to climax the 3-day All Christians National Fasting and Prayer on the theme, “Oh God, Heal Our Land” – 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, he said that when Jesus was here on earth, he had dominion over every situation. “Jesus could walk on the waters; he healed every manner of sickness and disease and cast out demons. So any disease, whether it is of a spiritual origin or organic, as a child of God you have dominion over it,” he assured.
Apostle Dr Ali also indicated that when Jesus was going into heaven, “He made us aware that his physical presence will not be here with us, but he gave us his name. So the Bible says that at the mention of the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.
“When you use the name of Jesus by faith there is no sickness that you cannot heal, because the power is in the name not in you and every power in the universe respect the name of Jesus. So no matter what it is, whether it’s Coronavirus, SARS virus, Ebola, or Malaria, every sickness is subject to the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus,” he pointed out.
Taking his main reading from Psalm 103:1-5, Apostle Dr Ben Ali explained that although David had gone through so many difficult things in life, he still had the heart to bless the Lord.
He, therefore, entreated all and sundry to trust in God and not forget about all His goodness despite the challenges they are going through, saying, “Whatever you are going through I want you to understand that God is concerned about you – God loves you. He is still in control and will see you through.”
“If you give your life to Jesus as the Lord over your life, Coronavirus is no longer lord over your life and no disease can be lord over your life. Even if you should die during this pandemic, it doesn’t mean that it is the disease that has killed you but God is calling you home to come and rest. So even if you leave this world and you have Jesus you have another place that you are going and that is why we must endeavour to have Jesus as Lord and master over our lives.
“As a Christian, don’t allow anything to intimidate you. You have Jesus. So fear should be out for God has not given unto us the spirit of fear but of power and of sound mind.
“If you want to identify with David that God heals all your diseases, not just the physical diseases but the spiritual ones – emotional, psychological and the disease of sin, He will heal you,” he added.
He stressed that God forgives all iniquities when people come to Him and recognise the blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary. “When we recognise the blood and invite Jesus into our lives then our sins are forgiven and God remembers them no more. He then heals all our diseases. So our God heals all diseases, no matter the type – curable and incurable,” he stated.
