The Ghana Evangelism Committee (GEC) officially launched its 50th Anniversary celebration on February 25, 2025, at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Kokomlemle, Accra.
The event brought together heads of various churches, para-church organisations, mission agencies, ecumenical bodies, and other key stakeholders to mark the beginning of a year-long celebration dedicated to advancing the mission of evangelism in Ghana and beyond.
Delivering the keynote address, the Chairman of the Ghana Evangelism Committee, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, underscored the importance of evangelism in fulfilling the Christian mandate. He urged believers to intensify their efforts in soul-winning, pointing out that the core mission of every Christian is to bring more souls into the Kingdom of God.
‘Our ultimate calling is to win the world for Christ and nurture souls for heaven. As we commemorate 50 years of evangelistic impact, let us renew our commitment to this divine mandate of winning souls, populating heaven, and depopulating hell,’ he stated.
Outlining the key events leading up to the grand climax, the National Director of the GEC, Apostle Bright Nyamedor, disclosed several initiatives aimed at making the anniversary impactful. These include regional consultative meetings and evangelism seminars, as well as a collaborative Greater Accra Mission, jointly organised by the GEC and African Enterprise, scheduled from October 24 to November 2, 2025.
Additionally, an All Ministers Conference will be held, and the GEC will host the Luis Palau Kumasi Love Festival 2026.
A significant highlight of the anniversary will be the release of the Third National Church Survey Report, the legacy project of the celebration, which is set to be unveiled at the grand climax in October 2026.
