The Frami District in the Cape Coast Area of The Church of Pentecost has organized a seminar for the chiefs of eight (8) communities within the Twifo/Heman/Lower Denkyira district in the Central Region of Ghana.
The seminar, which took place on March 7, 2020, at the Frami Central Assembly, was attended by the chiefs of Frami, Bekawopa, Mmaniaye, Abrafo, Adiyah, Mbem, Bremang and Ansamanso communities.
Speaking at the seminar, the Frami District Minister, Probationary Overseer Daniel Appiah advised the chiefs to always do what is right in the sight of God in all their endeavours.
Quoting from 2Kings 18:3-7a and Ephesians 5:27, P/Overseer Appiah indicated that King Hezekiah had a successful reign because the Lord was with him. This, according to him, was because King Hezekiah always sought to do what was right in the sight of the Lord.
“King Hezekiah also trusted in the Lord, obeyed His commands and remained faithful to Him,” he added.
P/Overseer Appiah, therefore, advised the traditional rulers to emulate Hezekiah and ensure that they always do what pleases the Lord, trust Him, obey Him, be faithful to Him and to live by His word in all their dealings as chiefs.
He also urged them to strive to be “glorious chiefs” who are blameless and upright (without spot or wrinkle) in governing their respective communities.
P/Overseer Appiah took the opportunity to throw some light on the church’s 5-year strategic vision dubbed: Vision 2023. Participants were allowed to share their opinions on the role chiefs can play in the community transformation agenda and how they are to influence their communities with Kingdom principles, values and lifestyle.
“Always remember that you were Christians first before becoming chiefs and as Christians you must rule with Kingdom values, principles and lifestyle. If we do so, there will be community transformation and all ungodly behaviour and dealings will be eliminated from our society. This will make our communities a better place to live in and God will be pleased with us,” he said.
The participants expressed their gratitude to the church for organizing such a seminar. They also pledged their commitment to ensuring that all decisions taken during the seminar are implemented in their various communities.
They also called on the church to support them with waste bins, street light as well as speaker horns for the establishment of information centres in some of the communities.
The seminar was attended by the Frami District Executive Committee and other traditional leaders.
