The Kasoa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle James Kwabena Asare, has called on fathers to embrace their role as the spiritual gatekeepers of their families, stressing the importance of godly leadership in the home.
Speaking during a special Father’s Day service at the Prophet M. K. Yeboah Worship Centre in Kasoa on Sunday, June 15, 2025, Apostle Asare encouraged men to lead by example, instill biblical values in their children, and safeguard their households from bad influences.
Delivering a sermon titled, ‘Leading Your Family Into a Great Future as a Man,’ Apostle Asare used Abraham as a model of faith and leadership.
Citing Genesis 12:1-4, he highlighted Abraham’s obedience to God’s call and the risks he took in pursuit of divine purpose, actions that ultimately led to generational blessings.‘
Just as Abraham stepped out in faith, fathers today must be willing to take bold steps guided by God’s word to secure a better future for their families,’ he said.
He also referenced Genesis 14:14-16, where Abraham fought to rescue his nephew Lot, urging fathers to be both spiritual and physical defenders of their families.
Additionally, he pointed to Abraham’s act of giving a tenth of his possessions to Melchizedek, encouraging fathers to teach their children the value of generosity and supporting God’s work.
The service, hosted by Resident Minister Pastor Fred Amoakohene Sarpong, featured a celebration of men in the church, complete with cake-cutting and a champagne toast.
Apostle Asare was also presented with a surprise Father’s Day gift in recognition of his leadership.
Among the attendees were Mrs Stephanie Amoakohene, wife of the Resident Minister, and Pastor Eric Yaw Nkwa and his wife from the Patriensa District in the Konongo Area.
