Five (5) assemblies under the Tanoso District of The Church of Pentecost have received large quantities of food items from the leadership of the district as a relief package to support needy members.

The items include 25 bags of rice,10 boxes of sunflower cooking oil and 5 boxes of sardines.

The items were procured with funds from the church as well as contributions from other benevolent members of the District.

The donation comes in the wake of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s announcement last Friday for a partial lockdown as part of measures to help combat the spread of the novel COVID-19 in the country.

The Assemblies that benefited from the relief package include; Bethel Assembly (Tanoso), Central Assembly (Tanoso), Redemption Assembly (Apatrapa), Zion Assembly (Nsonyameye) and Prayer Center Assembly.

Presenting the items, the District Minister, Pastor Michael Kwadwo Addae said that in such difficult times it is prudent to provide material support for members who are in dire need as the church continues to pray for God’s divine intervention in ending the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also used the opportunity to educate the beneficiaries on COVID-19 and why it has become necessary for members to take precautions against deadly virus seriously to reduce the spread of the disease.

Anticipating the huge effect of the lockdown on the livelihoods of members of The Church of Pentecost and Ghanaians in general, the leadership of The Church of Pentecost at the various levels have been directed to do everything within their means to meet the needs of members within their jurisdiction and to refer cases that are above them to an immediate authority for the necessary attention and action.

Members of the church have also been encouraged to bring to the attention of their church leaders any member or non-member who genuinely requires such support during lockdown period.
