The 2025 Christmas Convention of C25 Estate District in Ashaiman Area continued December 25 2025 at the Central Auditorium, drawing members into an atmosphere of joy, reverence, and heightened spiritual expectation. The convention is themed “Emmanuel – God With Us,” anchored in Matthew 1:23 and Isaiah 9:6, and seeks to reaffirm the assurance of God’s presence with His people through Jesus Christ.
Delivering the exhortation, Mrs Rose Kumi-Larbi, wife of the Ashaiman Area Head, reminded the congregation that Christmas is fundamentally about the birth of Jesus Christ, through whom salvation, glory, and transformation have been made available to humanity. She stressed that the incarnation of Christ is the ultimate expression of God’s nearness to mankind, even in times of difficulty and moral decline.
Expounding the theme scriptures alongside passages from 2 Chronicles 28 and Isaiah 7, Mrs Kumi-Larbi reflected on the reign of King Ahaz, who departed from God’s ways and embraced idolatry. She noted that Ahaz’s disobedience led Judah into severe trouble, including military defeat and spiritual compromise, as he sought help from foreign powers instead of trusting in God. His actions, she explained, symbolised divided loyalty – professing faith in God while relying on other sources for security.
Despite Ahaz’s rebellion, Mrs Kumi-Larbi highlighted God’s enduring mercy. Through the Prophet Isaiah and his son Shear-Jashub, God assured Judah that destruction would not occur and that a remnant would arise to walk faithfully in His ways. She emphasised that this demonstrates God’s grace toward humanity, even when people fall short, reminding believers that mercy was extended to them while they were still sinners.
Drawing practical lessons from the narrative, she urged Christians to remain calm and steadfast in times of turbulence, recalling God’s instruction to Ahaz to “take heed, be quiet, and do not fear.” She encouraged believers to trust God completely, assuring them that trials do not alter God’s purposes but are often used to strengthen faith, build resilience, and inspire others.
Mrs Kumi-Larbi further pointed out that although Ahaz refused to ask God for a sign, God graciously provided one – the promise of Emmanuel. This prophecy, she noted, was fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who came as both God and man to redeem humanity through His death, resurrection, and the gift of the Holy Spirit. She concluded by exhorting the congregation to remain firmly rooted in Christ, confident that Emmanuel – God with us – will faithfully deliver His people in every circumstance.
Among the dignitaries present at the convention were Prophet J. E. Ameyaw (retd), Pastor Ernest Perbi-Asare, and Apostle A. N. Y. Kumi-Larbi, Ashaiman Area Head and an Executive Council Member.
