The Ashaiman Area Head and Executive Council Member of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle ANY Kumi-Larbi, visited the Katamansu District on December 26 as part of his 2025 Christmas Convention activities in the Ashaiman Area.

He delivered a Christ-centred sermon on the theme “Jesus Christ, My Saviour and Lord Is Born,” grounding his message in Luke 2:11, Isaiah 9:6, and John 1:10–14. Apostle Kumi-Larbi affirmed the incarnation as God’s decisive intervention in human history, explaining that the birth of Jesus Christ reveals God’s love and redemptive purpose for a world burdened by sin and spiritual brokenness.

Drawing insight from Acts 2:36, he stressed that Jesus is both Lord and Saviour, noting that sin and its consequences remain humanity’s greatest challenge. He explained that God, in His mercy, sent Jesus Christ to rescue mankind from the grip and penalty of sin, urging the congregation to reflect on who truly governs their lives. He defined a saviour as one who delivers others from distress, highlighting humanity’s helplessness without divine intervention.

The preacher revisited humanity’s original state before the Fall, explaining that Adam was created in the image of God, enjoyed fellowship with Him, and exercised dominion over creation, as reflected in Genesis 1:26–27 and Luke 3:38. This privileged position, he said, was lost through sin, resulting in separation from God, confusion, and calamity, as recorded in Genesis chapters 3 to 6. Sin stripped humanity of its glory and authority, but restoration becomes possible when God’s image and character are renewed through Christ.

Referencing 1 Corinthians 15:22, Apostle Kumi-Larbi emphasised that life and restoration come through Jesus Christ. He assured believers that no weapon, spirit, or circumstance can prevail against them when Christ is present, citing scriptures including Ephesians 2:1–3, Romans 3:23, Matthew 1:20–21, and Colossians 1:13–14 to affirm deliverance, forgiveness, and new life in Christ.

The service was graced by the presence of Mrs. Rose Kumi-Larbi (wife of Apostle Kumi-Larbi); Pastor Sampson Nkrumah (Katamansu District Pastor) and his wife, Mavis Nkrumah; and Pastor Douglas Owusu Addy (Retd), whose attendance added warmth to the gathering.
