Redemption Through Jesus Brings True Freedom – Apostle Dr. Tsekpoe

The Head of Ministerial Formation at the Pentecost School of Theology and Missions (PSTM), Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe, has affirmed that true redemption — involving release, rescue, and deliverance — is found only in Jesus Christ.

“The redemption from Jesus sets people free,” he declared, emphasizing that humanity, bound by sin and incapable of saving itself, can only be liberated through the sacrificial blood of Jesus.

Apostle Dr. Tsekpoe made this statement on Friday, May 30, 2025, during the ongoing “You Must Be Born Again” Gospel Crusade held at the Ho Technical University.

Preaching on the theme “Forgiveness of Sins Through the Blood of Jesus,” he noted that the overwhelming sinfulness and shame plaguing the world require divine intervention.

“For someone to need redemption, the person must be under some form of oppression,” he explained, stressing that only the blood of Jesus has the power to cleanse and restore.

He added, “God paid our penalty Himself. The iniquities of our lives are too weighty for us to bear. Jesus is the only one qualified to pay the price and redeem us.”

Touching on the deceptive nature of sin, Apostle Tsekpoe warned, “The devil comes to steal your mind; he makes sin look so enticing, so beautiful.”

Referring to the biblical account of Adam and Eve, he said, “God killed an animal and replaced their fig leaves with proper covering, removing their shame. Every wisdom outside of Christ is the wisdom of leaves.”

He also stressed the importance of spiritual authority in overcoming oppression. Drawing from Exodus 1:11–16, he noted that the Israelites’ suffering in Egypt was not solely due to Pharaoh’s cruelty, but also because there was no one with divine authority to confront the enemy’s power.

“The devil can only oppress you when you lack a certain power,” he concluded.

The crusade — organized by the Youth Ministry of The Church of Pentecost in partnership with the Schools Outreach Ministry — continues through Sunday, June 1, 2025, and aims to spark spiritual renewal and transformation within the Ho Technical University community.

Elmina Area Head Dedicates Two Church Buildings

The Elmina Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko, has dedicated two church buildings — Hemang and Bethel Assemblies — both in the Ebukrom District.

The colourful dedication service took place on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Apostle Oduro-Nyarko expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, the leadership of the Church, and the entire membership of the local assemblies for their diverse contributions and unwavering support that led to the successful construction and dedication of the two edifices.

Preaching the sermon on the theme, “Unleashed to Live a Life According to God’s Pattern,” Pastor Francis Achiah, the Komenda District Minister, exhorted all present to understand and walk in God’s established principles and values.

Defining the term “unleashed” as being released with a certain force and without restriction, he encouraged believers to operate in this divine grace to positively transform every aspect of their lives — including their prayer life, fasting, and Bible study.

He emphasised that God is a God of patterns, and every disciple of Christ is called to live by these divine patterns. “You can’t be a disciple of Christ and have your own pattern,” he stated. According to him, God pays close attention to the conduct of His people to ensure they follow His laid-down instructions.

Quoting Exodus 26:30, Pastor Achiah urged believers to build their lives strictly according to God’s pattern in order to experience His glory and transformation.

He pointed out that while figures such as David, Moses, and Abraham did many commendable things, they are not the perfect examples to follow. Jesus Christ alone remains the ultimate pattern for Christian living.

Drawing from Matthew 5:21 and the verses that follow, he highlighted some of Christ’s patterns that believers must uphold: refraining from using ungodly words, forgiving offenders, living in purity, and avoiding sexual immorality, including adultery and fornication.

He concluded by calling on all to fix their eyes on Jesus and exemplify His character and lifestyle in every area of their lives.

Elder Raymond Awortwe, the District Secretary, reading the history of the church buildings, narrated that the Sekyere Hemang Assembly, originally under the Daboase District, began in 1988 in a rented apartment. It later moved to a classroom before acquiring four plots of land in 2016, where construction commenced.

Similarly, the Bethel Assembly, which started in 2008 at the Oxford Preparatory School, secured land in 2016 and began building.

He noted that through the combined financial support of the local assemblies, the District, the Area, and grants from the Church’s Headquarters, both buildings have been successfully completed and dedicated to the glory of God.

Pastor John Inusah Aturi, the District Minister, expressed deep appreciation to the current Area Head, Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko, and former Area Heads — Apostles David Terkper and Samuel Yaw Antwi — for their financial assistance.

He also acknowledged the pioneering efforts of his predecessor, Pastor Joseph Amesinu, for taking the bold steps to initiate the projects.

The event was graced by Dr. (Mrs.) Cynthia Oduro-Nyarko, wife of the Area Head, as well as Pastors Samuel Obeng Ansong, Chris Ameyaw, Daniel Tetteh Matey, Benjamin Aliniah, and Prince Augustine Ababio. Also present were presbyters and members of the Ebukrom District.

You Have Just One Life; Surrender to Jesus Now! – Pastor Donkoh Urges Youth

The PENSA Travelling Secretary for Kwadaso Sector, Pastor Isaac Donkoh, has stressed that being born again is not about merely attending church but involves a complete transformation of one’s life through faith in Christ.

Delivering a sermon at the “You Must Be Born Again” Gospel Crusade at the Ho Technical University, he noted that “Being born again is not a matter of going to church. You can belong to a church and still not be saved.” According to him, true conversion changes a person’s life completely (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Expounding further, he reminded the congregation of the fleeting nature of life and the certainty of death, referencing Job 14:5 and Hebrews 9:27.

“God has set a limit on the number of days each of us has. No one can exceed that limit. You have just one life. Don’t waste it,” he warned.

Urging the youth to remember their Creator while they still have strength, he cited Ecclesiastes 12:1. “The great Day of the Lord is coming. On that day, status won’t matter—only those whose names are found in the Book of Life will be saved,” he cautioned, referencing Revelation 20:12.

Pastor Donkoh did not shy away from the gravity of eternal judgment, painting a vivid picture of the fate of the unrepentant. “The proud will be humbled,” he said, quoting Isaiah 2:12. “On that day, people will run to mountains and beg them to fall on them. But there’ll be no escape,” he added, drawing from Revelation 6:12–16.

Highlighting God’s gift of free will, he said, “God has given us the power to decide what to do with our lives. But the only right decision is to call on the name of the Lord Jesus. There is no tomorrow. The time is now.”

“You cannot exchange your soul for money, sex, or anything else. One day, we will all die, and after death comes judgment. Make peace with Jesus while you still can,” he concluded.

Being Born Again Is the Only Escape From Eternal Judgment – Evangelism Director

The Evangelism Director of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Kwesi Appiah, has made a strong appeal to all persons to surrender their lives to Christ, declaring that being born again is not optional but a divine requirement for salvation.

Speaking at the climax of the “You Must Be Born Again” Gospel Crusade at Ho Technical University on Sunday, June 1, 2025, Apostle Appiah delivered a sermon on the topic “You Must Be Born Again,” referencing 1 Timothy 2:3-5 and Ephesians 1:7 to explain the redemptive power available only through Jesus Christ.

“There is only one mediator between God and man — the man Jesus Christ,” he said, adding; “Faith in Christ sets us free from the power of sin. There’s a force that influences man which he cannot resist on his own, but through Jesus, we are redeemed and delivered.”

He explained that the command “You must be born again” is not a suggestion, but an uncompromising requirement for entering the Kingdom of God.

“It is a necessity. If you are born once, you will die twice. But if you are born twice, you only die once. This new birth is what saves us from eternal condemnation,” Apostle Appiah declared.

Referencing John 3:1–10, he warned against superficial religiosity and urged believers to pursue a genuine personal relationship with Christ.

“You can’t fake your way into salvation. Jesus knows every man. It’s not about position in the church — it’s about transformation through the Spirit,” he added.

He challenged Christians to reflect Christ in both private and public life, calling for consistency, spiritual discipline, and separation from sinful lifestyles.

“Being born again means being dead and buried with Christ. We don’t continue in sin. A born-again Christian is spiritually minded and lives with eternity in view,” he said, quoting Romans 6:3–6 and Hebrews 11:13–16.

The “You Must Be Born Again” Crusade held at the Ho Technical University began on Thursday. May 29, 2025 and ended on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
