The Bethel Assembly church building in the Ayebronmu District of The Church of Pentecost has been officially dedicated and renamed in honour of the late Apostle Bernard Tai Kwofie. The event took place on Sunday, July 21, 2025, and was officiated by Apostle Emmanuel Agyemang Bekoe, Missions Director, with support from Apostle Patrick Aseyoro (Suhum Area Head) and Pastor Eric Papa Bedu Aikins (District Minister).
Speaking on the theme ‘God’s Temple’ (1 Samuel 3:3), Apostle Bekoe highlighted the church as more than a physical structure – ‘a sacred space where God’s presence dwells and His purpose is fulfilled.’ He urged members to remain connected to the Holy Spirit, ‘who provides the true light of God in His church,’ and to make the building a place where God’s voice is heard and His mission thrives.
Bethel Assembly began in 1990 with 35 members under the late Evangelist L. A. Nyarko. The land was purchased in 1992 for GH¢50.00. Construction commenced with a sod-cutting ceremony in 2008 by the late Apostle B. T. Kwofie and Pastor Francis Amewugah. The foundation stone was later laid by Apostle A. E. K. Ekuban (Retd) with the late Pastor Evans Annaba Mensah. The building, now with a 1,200-seating capacity, was completed at a cost of GH¢1,307,266.73 through support from church members, the District, the Area, and Headquarters.
The family of the late Apostle B. T. Kwofie expressed heartfelt gratitude to Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of the Church, the Executive Council, and the local leadership for the honour. The service concluded with songs of praise and thanksgiving, marking a significant milestone in the life of the church.
