A massive evangelistic outreach held in the Berekum Area of The Church of Pentecost on Saturday, September 18, 2021, has yielded 135 souls and resulted in the creation of five nursery assemblies.
The exercise was organised by the Area’s ‘Nation Possessors’ team, which is an offshoot of the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of the church. The team, made up of 120 young men and women, collaborated with ten districts in the Area to undertake the exercise.
At the end of the aggressive exercise, 135 souls were led to Christ, comprising 123 adults and 12 children. Out of them were eight Ivorians won in the Asiri District, 10 Kokombas in the Jinijini District, six Dagaares, six ghetto dwellers in the Dormaa Koraso District as well as eight Dagaabas in the Dorbor District.
The ministers-in-charge of the various districts baptised a total of 38 new converts in water on the same day. Also, 23 of the converts were led to receive Holy Spirit baptism.
It is also worth mentioning that 15 converts received instant healing of various ailments. Notable amongst them was the miraculous healing of a lame person who was restored to normalcy after being prayed for in the Biadan District of the Area.
As part of preparations towards the event, a stakeholders’ training and prayer meeting was organised for the sub-zonal commanders (team leaders) under the auspices of Area Head, Apostle Samuel Berko. The Berekum Area HUM Coordinator, Overseer Bright Amankwah, and the Area’s Nation Possessors Leader, Elder Gideon Ehwi, were the main facilitators for the training session.
Following the successful outreach, the Area HUM Nations Possessors team has slated October 9, 2021, for another evangelism outreach.
The Nation Possessors, an initiative of the Home and Urban Missions of the church, is aimed at raising an army of young people tasked to pray for and support the work of HUM across the nation. The Nation Possessors also serve as ambassadors of HUM who evangelise to HUM target groups and educate the church public and the general public about the ministry’s mandate.
The national leadership of HUM is hopeful of planting 30 new churches by the end of the year through the Nation Possessors initiative. They also look to raise and train an army of 1,802 young people who would, in turn, recruit other ‘militants’ to support the cause.
