The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has declared that the power demonstrated in the resurrection of Jesus Christ makes every believer unstoppable.
Preaching on the topic “The Power of the Resurrection” at the climax of the 2025 Easter Convention of the Teshie-Nungua Area (Teshie Zone) held at Salem Park, Teshie, Apostle Obuobi stated that nothing could hold Jesus back—not the sealed stone, the Roman soldiers, nor the efforts of religious leaders. In the same way, he affirmed, nothing can stop the believer who walks in the power of Christ.
“Every attempt was made to prevent Jesus from rising,” he said. “Religious authorities schemed, and the enemy strategised to keep Him in the grave. But all of it failed. The power of God triumphed over every opposition.”
Quoting 1 Corinthians 15:14, Apostle Obuobi emphasized that the resurrection is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. “If Christ had not risen, our faith would be futile, and the gospel would be meaningless,” he explained. “But because He rose, we have a living hope and a firm foundation.”
He noted that the resurrection is not just a historical event but a present reality that assures believers of victory over sin, Satan, and death. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead, he stressed, is active and available to every believer today.
“The strategy of the devil was to keep Jesus in the grave permanently,” he said. “But God displayed His surpassing power by raising Him back to life. That power still works today—it lives in us!”
Apostle Obuobi also highlighted the resurrection as a guarantee of the believer’s future resurrection. “Death is not the end for the Christian,” he said. “Just as Christ rose, we too will rise again (1 Corinthians 15:21-22).”
He urged Christians to walk in the confidence that the Spirit of the Living God dwells within them, and that Christ reigns now and forever.
Apostle Obuobi concluded by inviting those who have not yet accepted Christ to do so without delay, assuring them that encountering Jesus is the only way to experience the true power of the resurrection.
